Overwatch is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter in development by Blizzard Entertainment. Unveiled at BlizzCon 2014, the game focuses on cooperative gameplay using a cast of various “heroes”, each with their own abilities and roles within a team. The game entered the closed beta in North America and Europe October 27, 2015, with plans to put the beta in Asia at a later date. The last weekend of closed beta began April 15, 2016 and primarily served as a stress test for the Cartel servers, lasting 36 hours. The game is scheduled to be released May 24, 2016, on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Overwatch offers team fights between two teams of six players each. Players choose from several hero characters, each with their own unique abilities and role classes. Roles four characters: high-speed offense of characters and attacks but weak defense, defense figures intended to form choke points for enemies, support characters that provide buffs and debuffs to their allies and enemies respectively (such as healing or rate changes) and tank characters that have a large amount of armor and hit to resist the attacks of the enemy and to draw fire away from their teammates.
